Shenandoah Fly Fishing, LLC is a veteran-owned guide service providing safe, practical, and educational fly-fishing experiences exclusively for active-duty U.S. military service members and U.S. military veterans. Trips are designed to meet eligible anglers where they are, from first-time fly fishers to experienced anglers looking for a full day on the water.
Our Approach
Fishing Should Meet You Where You Are
Some anglers arrive ready for a full day of casting for Shenandoah smallmouth bass. Others are learning how to manage fly line, make effective presentations, or cast from a boat for the first time.
The goal is not to force every angler into the same experience. Trips are structured around the water, vessel, conditions, experience level, and what each angler wants to accomplish during the day.
Instruction is practical and incorporated into the trip as needed, whether that means working through basic equipment and casting fundamentals or refining techniques for warm-water species.
Safety remains the first priority. Conditions, equipment, participant readiness, and sound decisions on the water come before fishing.

Shenandoah Fly Fishing does not currently operate as a general-public guide service. Guided trips are reserved for active-duty U.S. military service members and U.S. military veterans.
This eligibility requirement applies to regular trips and custom trip requests. Each participant included in a guided trip must independently meet the eligibility requirement.

Where We Fish
Virginia Warm-Water Fisheries
The Shenandoah River is central to the fishing offered through Shenandoah Fly Fishing. Bass Boat and Cataraft trips provide different ways to experience the river depending on conditions, fishing goals, and the type of trip selected.
Lake Anna expands those opportunities through guided Pontoon Boat trips and access to a different warm-water environment.
Locations and fishing plans may change with seasonal patterns, weather, water conditions, and the experience being planned.

Three Different Platforms
Each boat provides a different style of guided experience, from focused one-on-one instruction to full-day river and lake fishing.
Pontoon Boat
A spacious fishing platform used primarily for full-day guided trips on Lake Anna. The pontoon provides room to cast comfortably and explore different areas of the lake throughout the day.
Cataraft
A 16-foot cataraft used for full-day Shenandoah River floats. These trips provide a more complete river experience and are geared toward anglers who are already comfortable fly casting.
